The Flame Restaurant - Historic Sign

The Historic Flame Restaurant Neon Sign

The Flame Restaurant sign was originally installed in 1961 on the roof of the restaurant on Desert Inn Road. It was restored through a generous donation from Rich Travis. The sign was installed as part of the Neon Museum on July 8, 1997. It can now be found on the southwest corner of Fremont Street Experience and Las Vegas Boulevard. It is believed to have been designed by Hermon Boernge and was built by Young Electric Sign Co.

Daily Neon: Arby’s Neon sign on Decatur Blvd. now gone

July 20, 2015
Arby's Classic Neon Hat sign

Arby’s Classic Neon Hat sign was found on Decatur Blvd Near Meadows Lane

Another classic neon sign has been removed in Las Vegas and it’s not the flashy ones found on the Strip or on downtown. The old Arby’s location (store #592) on Decatur Blvd. near Meadows Lane has been shuttered and the classic ten-gallon neon hat sign now removed, but I caught a photo before it was removed.

Sports Betting Las Vegas With World Famous NFL Bettor Jon Price

Sports Betting Las Vegas With World Famous NFL Bettor Jon Price from Sports Information Traders

He sits surrounded by computer screens. Those who don’t know any better think that it’s a multi Billion dollar hedge fund operation. Those who do recognize the sports options live odds from the different sportsbooks and the numbers being crunched to spit out what is known as Jon Price’s Delta. Price a reclusive investor has recently taken to the public airwaves for his last few years of professional sports betting.

Pile of Cash

Delta is what the Las Vegas Sportsbook odds are supposed to be according to the Sports Information Traders CEO’s research. His team of expert analysts compare and reviews the current sportsbook odds to the Delta number and add in a little bit of their proprietary mix to come up with the highly probabilistic winner for that game.

Football betting, whether it’s NCAA or NFL Jon Price always thinks of it as a never ending game. The odds are stacked against 99.9% of those playing the game. These big casinos aren’t there for no reason at all. The challenge is always being one step ahead of the oddsmakers. They are smart but you have to be smarter.

The glitz, the glamor, and the money being pumped into the Las Vegas Sportsbooks are a far cry from the early days of back room sports gambling in Vegas. Frank Lefty Rosenthal was popularized in the movie Casino where he started off back east handicapping games and came out west to the worlds most glamorous town to make it even more glamorous.

What “Ace” did for the sportsbooks and casinos was truly amazing. The Riviera and Flamingo shined bright like Bugsy Siegel had dreamed it would. The crowds came in droves not only from southern California but from all over the country. Now days the new star of sports betting is the NFL handicapper who goes by the name of Jon Price from Sports Information Traders. This phenomenon has showcased that he can bring home stacks of money and turn sports gambling into sports investing. In a sense it’s a 180 of the mentality of the olden days of betting. Today you are no longer lined up to place your bets at the counter. Cantor gaming has sophisticated mobile gaming platforms where you can wager from your room or at your Las Vegas, Compound. As long as the IP address says your in Las Vegas, Nevada then your able to place bets.

The future is bright for the sports betting world. Experts alike believe that the 2015 NFL betting season is going to be one of the biggest yet. Each year new rules, regulations, and trades make the first 4 weeks of the season difficult for the bookmakers to accurately pinpoint where the betting lines should be. With experts like Jon Price who have been consistently delivering winning spread picks early in the season for the last 6 years predicts that this year will be no different and with his track record we believe it.

Daily Neon: Blue Angel Motel Sign

July 14, 2015

Blue Angel Motel Sign

The Blue Angel opened in 1956. The well known sign was designed by iconic Neon Designer Betty Willis. Betty who also designed the Fabulous Las Vegas sign. Willis was criticized for depicting the well endowed angel that now over looks the motel. At one time, the angel revolved and was surrounded by blue jays. The Blue Angel was inspired, fittingly enough, by the Blue Fairy in Walt Disney’s classic animated feature, “Pinocchio”. The Blue Angel closed in 2011.
