Not so obvious activities in Las Vegas

Las Vegas is a desert city located in Nevada. It’s famous for being the gambling mecca and, the heat of course.

While Las Vegas is known for its many landmarks, in this article we would like to focus on the not so obvious activities you can do during your visit to Las Vegas.

We won’t cover, for the most part, restaurants or places to eat this time, but you will definitely see Las Vegas differently with the places we will share with you here.

Stratosphere

If you see a person falling down from high up in the stratosphere, don’t panic. It’s just the  SkyJump a controlled free fall that sends brave visitors to the mainland from 250 meters up. But if you don’t feel like jumping out of a perfectly safe building, you can enjoy other emotions. Follow the screams to the top of the Stratosphere, the tallest building in Nevada, where you will enjoy attractions such as the Big Shot, the X-Scream and the Insanity. Take it easy: they are as scary as they sound.

Under the neon lights

Las Vegas is known for destroying anything that gets too old, musty, or just isn’t profitable. But while the city’s ancient architecture has often been reduced to nothing, many of its iconic neon signs have been given a second chance and preserved in the well known Neon Museum. Book a visit to wander among the relics, hear tales of eccentric billionaires (There are a few on Las Vegas), historic landmarks, and the characters who helped build the city.

The circus

Las Vegas is home to Cirque du Soleil in America with seven resident shows filling the theaters along the Boulevard. For the definitive experience of Cirque’s charms, go to their ‘O’ show at The Bellagio, a wonderful circus show based on a stage that transforms into a pond in the blink of an eye; packed with jaw-dropping tricks, groundbreaking engineering, and the company’s classic clowns. For a little more circus enjoyment in Las Vegas, party at Absinthe’s Spiegeltent at Caesars Palace and let his ruthless Gazillionaire and his diverse team of performers blow your mind with their astonishing pranks.

Relax in the pool

Have we talked about the heat in Las Vegas? Well, it gets hot. Its location makes heat prominent and overwhelming. From the time summer hits in early April to the end of October, Las Vegas pool parties are the place to beat the heat. Wet ‘n’ Wild is the water park kids want, while entire families will find something to do between the sandy beach, wave pool and lazy river at Mandalay Beach. For a more adult experience in the pool, join the crowd at the Encore Beach Club, where the party runs through the afternoon drinking, dancing and immersing yourself in the soundtrack of the best DJs.

Hoover Dam

Hoover Dam has great significance to both Las Vegas history and geography, and the 221-meter-high curved concrete facade makes for a breathtaking sight, whether you’re taking a guided tour, walking to the bridge, or you just watch it from a boat on Lake Mead. 21,000 men worked for five years to build the mighty dam on the Colorado River, and it is worth stopping to see the fruits of their labor.

Located very close to the city, it’s a location you must visit if you feel a bit overwhelmed by the city lights.

Trekking

Las Vegas visitors are often surprised to find that The Strip is not a four-mile city lost in the middle of the desert. The city is surrounded by mountains and canyons that offer wonderful expeditions throughout the year. During the winter, visit The Red Rock National Conservation Area, where the reddish rock faces are dotted with climbers and trails that lead to charming ravines. In the summer, head north to Mount Charleston, nearly 3,600 meters where you can find cooler temperatures, Bristlecone pine forests, and breathtaking views of the valley.

Conclusion

So, as you can see, we could write a whole book of interesting things you could do in Las Vegas that you probably didn’t know about and if you are still into playing some games, you can use your phone or tablet to play more than 8000 free slots at online casinos. You can do that while you wait in line for your attractions or when relaxing by the pool as long as you’re linked to the internet, you’re good to go. You don’t have to bet real money to play the free slot machines, which are available 24/7, so there’s always something to do.

There’s more in Las Vegas than just the casinos. While the heat can beat you up really well at times, you will always find something interesting to do in the city of lights. The Strip will always welcome visitors.

Who could have forth seen all this coming from a tiny spot in the middle of the desert?

How to Be a More Responsible Gambler

January 24, 2022
Love to Gamble

Do you love gambling? Are you spending too much time and money trying to win a jackpot? If so, then it’s time for you to take action. We all enjoy a good bet. Whether it’s on the ponies, at the casino, or with your friends in poker, we want to win, and we want to keep winning. However, gambling becomes too much of an obsession for some people, and they find themselves in trouble. If you’re struggling with gambling addiction, then there are ways that you can help yourself and be more responsible when betting. This article will discuss seven key steps you can take to make sure that your gambling habit doesn’t get out of control. Let’s get to the list.

Find the Right Gambling Site

The best place to start when you want to be a more responsible gambler is by finding the right gambling site for you. If you’re struggling with an addiction, it’s essential that your online betting platform does not encourage risky behavior. Look for sites with protections in places such as self-exclusion tools and problem gamer assistance programs. You can also look for sites that offer responsible gambling features. These include reminders to bet responsibly, time limits on the play, and cash out-limits if you find yourself losing too much money.

For instance, if you are gambling online, it’s essential to choose a site with responsible gambling features such as time limits on play and cash-out limits. There are different types of online casinos to choose from, and it is essential to find the right one for you. This will ensure that you do not overindulge in gambling and lose your hard-earned money. So, when choosing an online casino game, make sure there are responsible gaming features in place, so you can limit your playtime.

Use Self-Exclusion Tools

If you find that gambling is starting to take over your life, it’s essential to use self-exclusion tools. These tools allow you to exclude yourself from a particular site or group of sites for a specific period. This is an excellent option for those who want to break from gambling or those who feel like they can’t control their behavior.

There are different types of self-exclusion tools that you can use. One is the site’s exclusion tool. This allows you to exclude yourself from a particular site for a set period. You can also use the industry-wide self-exclusion tool. This allows you to exclude yourself from all online gambling sites for a set period. There is also the option to use a financial institution exclusion tool. This allows you to exclude yourself from any site linked to your bank account.

Start With Controlled Bets

When you’re starting, it’s essential to make sure that your bets are controlled. This means betting a small amount of money you can afford to lose. If you’re not comfortable with this, don’t gamble. When you’re in control, you’ll be less likely to make risky bets and more likely to walk away with your money.

While there are times when it’s good to bet what you can afford to lose, there are also times when it isn’t the best idea. For example, if your rent is due, don’t risk putting that at stake in a game of blackjack or roulette. You will be putting your livelihood at stake if you do this, and that’s something that no one should ever have to deal with.

Use a Money Management Strategy

Once you start gambling, it is essential to use money management strategies to keep yourself out of trouble. If you’re someone who loves taking risks, then make sure that the amount of money you’re betting is something that won’t break the bank. This way, if you happen to lose, it’s not a big deal.

On the other hand, if you don’t like taking risks, make sure that your bets are small and manageable. That way, you can still enjoy the thrill of gambling without putting your finances at risk.

Start With a Small Betting Limit

If you’re starting, one of the benefits of online gambling is that you can start with a small betting limit, so there is no pressure to win big. This will help you get a feel for the game and how it works without risking too much money.

Make sure that when you’re choosing a betting limit, it’s one that you’re comfortable with and won’t cause any financial stress if you happen to lose. You can consider making several small bets instead of one colossal bet so that you’re still in the game even if you lose one or two. For instance, make three bets instead of one, and if you win just one out of the three, then you’ll still have a chance to make back some money.

Don’t Go All-In Based on Emotions

When you’re gambling, it’s essential to make sure that you’re not going all-in based on emotions. This means that you shouldn’t gamble when you’re feeling angry, sad, or frustrated. If you do, then there’s a good chance that you’ll make the wrong decisions and lose money that you can’t afford to lose.

It is essential to wait until you feel calm and collected before you play. If you insist on gambling when you are upset, then it’s essential to know that there is a good chance of regretting your actions later on down the line. If possible, put all gambling activities on hold until you’re feeling more stable.

Know the Rules of the Game

Before you start gambling, it is essential to know the game’s rules. This means knowing what type of bet you’re making, how much money you can win or lose, and what the odds are. If you don’t understand something, ask a friend or family member for help. That way, you’ll be less likely to make costly mistakes when you’re playing.

For instance, if betting online, it is essential to go through the terms and conditions to know what is expected of you. There are often wagering requirements in place, which means that you’ll need to bet a certain amount before being able to withdraw any money that you’ve won. By knowing this beforehand, you can avoid any surprises down the line.

Gambling can also be risky.

Although gambling can be a fun and thrilling experience, it’s important to remember that it can also be risky. If you’re not careful, you could end up losing more money than you intended to or, even worse, go into debt. Follow these tips so that you can gamble responsibly and have a good time without putting your finances at risk.

5 Top Tips to Help Landlords Manage Difficult Tenants

January 18, 2022
Las Vegas housing

Whether you have been a landlord for many years or you have recently started letting out your property, at some point, you will probably come across a difficult tenant. Whether they always pay their rent late or their neighbors are constantly calling you about noise disturbances, it is important that you know how to deal with different types of tenants. Here are a few top tips to help you avoid difficult situations.

Screen Potential Tenants

If you want an easier life without tenant-related problems, you should always screen potential tenants. Landlords should always check the employment and credit history of potential tenants and obtain at least one reference. A professional background check can also be incredibly revealing too.

Recognize the Problem

Knowing exactly what you are dealing with can help you resolve the issue quickly and as painlessly as possible. There are many different ways a tenant can cause issues, and getting to the root of the problem can lead to better tenant-landlord relations.

Issues With Rent Payment

From temporary cash flow issues to sudden unemployment, there are a plethora of reasons why your tenant is late with the rent. Once you have identified the reason, you can come up with a solution. People with genuine reasons can be given other payment options. However, if the issue persists, be prepared to take legal action.

Property Damage

Property visits throughout the duration of a tenancy can help you stay on top of damages. In addition, a tenancy agreement should have been signed by both parties before a tenant moves in. This agreement should state the party responsible for fixing and paying for damages.

Subletting Without Permission

Besides checking for damage, property visits can also help you recognize signs that your tenant is subletting a room, or the entire property, without your permission. Before making accusations, always get the facts straight.

Noise Complaints

Noise complaints from neighbors can turn nasty and may end up with the police knocking on the door. Anti-social behavior can be curbed by asking your tenant to resolve their issue with their neighbor personally.

Know Your Rights

As a landlord, do your due diligence and educate yourself about landlord and tenant rights and the correct procedures to take. Some landlords may benefit from professional advice from a commercial real estate expert; Segal Commercial employs experts with in-depth knowledge in leasing contracts, agreements, and property management. They can provide you with sound advice and an expert witness for your disputes.

Stay Calm

Whatever the problem, always stay calm and collected. Becoming emotional could cause the situation to get worse. When approaching tenant issues, assess the situation without bias and come up with a solution carefully.

Keep Records of Everything

Keep a written record of everything throughout the duration of a tenancy. Take photographic evidence, keep a record of all financial transactions, and make notes of all issues. Keeping your documents in a safe place and making a note of everything that happens can help you win a dispute against your tenant, should the matter go to court.

How Las Vegas Casinos are Recovering Well

December 29, 2021
Las Vegas Strip
The Las Vegas Strip

There are no two ways about it; 2020 and 2021 pretty much sucked for commercial businesses worldwide, with the hospitality and gaming industries being affected in particular. COVID forced lengthy shutdowns globally, and the Las Vegas Strip, with its multitude of casinos, was hit hard.

However, there is light at the end of the tunnel, and the good news is that no matter how hard the casinos were hit, they are fighting back with incredible numbers.

Nearly two years after the pandemic transformed Las Vegas from the spectacular city that we all know and love to a depressingly deserted ghost town, it’s well on the road to recovery, bouncing back with a determined push.

Las Vegas has reported that tourists are again streaming in, and gambling revenue is on the up. With the Las Vegas Strip boasting its first new casino in over a decade and huge concerts starting up again at a new gleaming stadium, it looks like Vegas again has the winning hand against the pandemic.

Big Revenue Gains

In October, according to numbers revealed by the Nevada Gaming Control Board, the State, which includes Las Vegas, collected $1.2 billion in gaming revenues. That was the eighth month in a row that revenues had topped a billion.

What is more startling is that the $1.2 billion figure is up a sensational 19.5% from the same month before the pandemic hit. And, if you were still skeptical – this was the first eight-month billion dollar streak since way back in 2007.

“We’ll probably set an all-time calendar year record,” explained Michael Lawton, an analyst with the Control Board. With that sort of figure coming around, no one can be in any doubt that Vegas is well and truly back on its feet. The removal of the Flexiglass panels used to separate players at the blackjack and poker tables certainly helps create the impression that things are returning to normal.

Of those huge October revenue figures, table games revenues in October hit $333.9 million, which was $100 million higher than the October 2019 equivalent. One reason for this may well have been the World Series of Poker running throughout the month when it is held in the early summer in previous years. The poker festival attracts thousands of visitors to the city, all of whom are well known to enjoy the occasional casino bet.

Casinos in Las Vegas are reporting that visitor numbers are on the up generally, with domestic US visitors being the main source of their footfall. International visitors are also now returning, although further variants of COVID and possible restrictions on traveling mean many international visitors are still wary about visiting Las Vegas, and rightly so.

An Online Alternative

Those that would normally have jumped on a plane and traveled to Las Vegas to try their luck are playing it safe and taking to playing online, which remains a viable and safer alternative.

With a multitude of online gambling sites available around the world, players in the UK, for example, are turning to fully-licensed online sites such as STS Casino, where they can play their favorite games without having to get on a plane and fly out to Vegas.

They can still experience the thrills and excitement of playing at a casino but from the comfort and safety of their own homes. Online casinos offer players a true Las Vegas-style experience, complete with table games like blackjack and roulette, live dealer games, and hundreds of slot machines.

Not Over Yet

The concerns over the coronavirus pandemic have still not settled down fully. New strains continue to surface, and measures restricting commercial premises like casinos may be re-introduced at any time.

Financial and industry experts are estimating that a full “return to normal” for bricks-and-mortar casinos could take years. But for now, “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” is absolutely still a thing, with those record revenues announced by the Nevada Gaming Control Board proving visitors are flocking in.

As with everything, time will tell, but early indications show the overall economy is rebounding gradually after the colossal losses made during the pandemic. As people are become a little less fearful and slightly more comfortable with traveling (when allowed), Las Vegas most probably will, once again, maintain its title as the most gregarious and vibrant entertainment capital of the world.
